Part of I-55 North Could be Closed for 11 Hours Near Madison Due to Chemical Spill

MADISON COUNTY, Miss. — Part of I-55 north near Madison could be closed up to 11 hours while workers with U.S. Environmental Services clean up a chemical spill.

Wednesday morning an 18-Wheeler ran off the road, overturned in the median between Steed Road and Madison Avenue, and spilled peroxide and paint thinner. The chemicals have been contained, but MDOT suggest that drivers find alternate routes.
