30-year-old Jessica Lynn Meredith, of Florence, was arrested by agents of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics on the job in Metro Jackson. Meredith is a licensed pharmacy technician and faces a charge of obtaining 37.5 mg of the controlled substance phentermine by embezzlement.
Phentermine may be prescribed in the treatment of obesity. A handgun was also seized in conjunction with Meredith’s arrest.
Her arrest stems from a joint investigation of prescription drug diversion by the MBN with the assistance of the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy.
