Poplarville Goes Wet

POPLARVILLE, Miss. – The city of Poplarville decided to go wet Tuesday. At least 70 percent of the voters there voted in favor of selling beer and wine in the city. The alcohol content of beer cannot exceed 8%, which is on par with state law, and the wine cannot exceed an alcohol content of 5%.

It is the first time alcohol sales have come up for vote in the city in 30 years.

Pearl River County is still a dry county.
