A man died at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West point Monday after a wreck at the Starkville Raceway.
Race car driver Sam McFarland, 68, was going on a test drive Sunday evening when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed.
Deputies say McFarland was almost done with the run when the engine blew and the car crashed into a guardrail on the track. He was then transported in a private vehicle to the Medical Center where he passed away Monday Morning.
Police are still looking into the accident.
