Rain and thunderstorms as Gordon goes inland – 9-5-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across Mississippi.

In north Mississippi, rain is likely in the morning with a slight chance of thunderstorms during the day. Showers are likely in the afternoon and highs will be in the mid-80s. Tonight, expect cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will drop down into the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, slight chance of thunderstorms in the early morning hours with showers during the day and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Locally, heavy rainfall is possible as Gordon’s impact makes its way through. Highs in the lower to mid-80s and at night, cloudy skies with a chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower to mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, thunderstorms in the morning and locally, there will be some heavy rainfall as Gordon is still making an impact. Showers will continue during the day with highs in the mid-80s. In the evening, expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will cool off into the mid-70s.
