Rain Coming Tuesday and Wednesday, But Probably Not Enough

GREENVILLE, Miss.–There hasn’t been enough rain this month in the state, but after a good two-week dry spell, there’s finally some rain in the forecast. But, most of it will be in the Delta, and it probably will not be enough.

“We’re gonna have a weak front approaching the area Tuesday, so the Delta could probably see some chances as early as Tuesday mid-afternoon to evening,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Mike Edmunston. “The front’ll slowly sag into the area Tuesday night. By Wednesday evening, chances will be over.”

Edmunston said even though the rain will eventually make it to other parts of the state, the northwest portion will see the most.

“Unfortunately, everybody might see a little bit of rain, but we’re not expecting more than a tenth to a quarter of an inch.”

Wednesday evening and Thursday will be drier, with highs in the low 70s, but Edmunston says to expect a warm-up by the weekend.
