Rain headed your way, flooding fears along the coast

Jackson, Miss– The guarantee for a gully-washing rain has brought temperatures down but preparation up for the coastal cities in Mississippi.
Big rainfall in South Mississippi today. The chance of precipitation is nearly 100 percent with a high of 86 degrees. Tonight, more showers and thunderstorms with winds up to 15 MPH and an overnight low of 79. Tomorrow, an 80 percent chance of continued precipitation, peaking at 88 degrees.

Central Mississippi, a 70 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 100. Tonight, a 60 percent likelihood of rain with a cloudy low around 75 degrees. Tomorrow, an 80 percent chance of showers, with winds up to 10 MPH and a high of 84.

 North Mississippi, a 60 percent chance of showers today under mostly cloudy skies with a high near 89. Winds up to around 10 MPH. Tonight, a 40 percent chance of rain with a mostly cloudy low of 75. Tomorrow, a 50 percent chance of showers with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 88 degrees.
