JACKSON, Miss.–Get ready for a good soaking. The rain you’re gonna see this morning when you’re driving to work or going to school is expected to last all week and into the weekend.
You’ll see more hit and miss showers north, but central and south Mississippi, get ready for for a more prolonged rain event, with the forecast putting showers and a few storms in the state at least through Saturday and possibly Sunday.
There is no severe weather expected with the rain. The main risk will be some flash flooding with prolonged rain in the same places, again and again.
The rain is generally moving in from the south. North Mississippi can expect the bulk of the rain Friday and Saturday.
