Rankin County Chancery Court Appoints New Judge

BRANDON, Miss.- In light of the recent death of Judge Dan Fairly, the Mississippi Supreme Court has found his replacement. Judge William R. Barnett has been appointed as Special Chancellor for the 20th Chancery Court of Ranking County.

After the death of Chancellor Fairly, Senior Chancery Judge John S. Grant III requested the one-month appointment of a special judge.

Judge Fairly was found dead in his car on Friday, April 3rd off of Highway 43 at the Natchez Trace in Madison County. While an autopsy has not yet been released, many sources believe his death to be a suicide.
