Just one month after Andy Kennedy’s resignation as the head basketball coach at Ole Miss, the Rebels have found his replacement.
Middle Tennessee State’s Kermit Davis has been hired by Ole Miss with an announcement expected on Thursday, according to Parrish Alford of the Daily Journal .
Davis, a Mississippi native, former player at Mississippi State, and son of former Bulldog head coach Kermit Davis Sr., has been the head man at MTSU since 2002.
He has a 332-187 overall record with the Blue Raiders. His most successful seasons, however, have come recently. MTSU has reached the NCAA tournament three times in the last five seasons, and has averaged 25.5 wins over the last seven seasons.
Ole Miss also considered former Ohio State head coach Thad Matta, Florida’s Michael White, among others for the opening.
