Reports: Multiple Tupelo Police Officers Shot in Bank Robbery

TUPELO, Miss. — Multiple reports from north Mississippi say that multiple Tupelo Police Officers were shot Monday afternoon in a bank robbery.

According to the Daily Journal the shooting happened near the Atlanta Bread Company location near Crosstown.

One officer is now dead according to multiple reports and the other is in critical condition.

It is believed the officers were responding to a bank robbery at a BancorpSouth branch in the Gloster Creek Village.

Police have closed off a portion of town in the area and a be-on-the-lookout has been placed for a white SUV.

Little more on the crime has been confirmed and calls by News Mississippi to city officials and police have not been returned.
