TUEPLO, Miss. — The new Mississippi Highway 6 or US Highway 278 is almost finished. The ribbon cutting for the road was Tuesday, but the final stretch will not be opened for traffic until Monday because of delays due to weather.

The $26 million dollar road took three years to complete and runs from Mississippi Highway 342 in Pontotoc to U.S. Highway 45 in Tupelo.
