Salvation Army Ready to Roll For This Week’s Cold Temperatures

JACKSON, Miss– The Salvation Army is preparing all 32 shelter units for the freezing temps this week. 

Frigid cold across the state this week has the Salvation Army already preparing for the nights ahead.

“We’ve got our two disaster trucks ready to roll,” says Captain Ken Chapman with Salvation Army. Those trucks are providing food and aid to those who are living on the streets.

Aside from the help from the trucks, Salvation Army will also have all 32 shelter units open and prepared for the influx of people.

“We’ll have hot meals, jackets, blankets, gloves and emergency shelters,” says Chapman.
