Saturday Washout: Labor Day Weekend Could Mean You Get Wet

JACKSON, Miss.–Your Saturday could be a washout and you better get ready fr heat once again next week. Labor Day weekend could be a wet one.

Here’s the story. Today it’s a 20 percent chance of an afternoon-type storm. By tomorrow, a 70 percent chance of rain all around the state.

“There’s gonna be a lot higher moisture coming in from the Gulf of Mexico and a lot higher rain chances than we’ve seen over the last week,” said Chad Entremont, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.

He said he doesn’t expect any rough stuff, but locally heavy rain could be a concern. Some of the rain could linger into Saturday night, but by Sunday, the rain chances are back at normal afternoon levels.

Saturday temps will stay in the upper 80s.

“Especially for Labor Day and the remainder of the week, more of a typical summer time pattern. Looks like the whole week is gonna be above normal by several degrees.”

You can expect mid 90s for highs next week.
