According to the Adams County Sheriff’s department, there is a scam happening in Adams County with unknown callers contacting residents claiming to be from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
These scammers have told residents that they must money gram funds in order to avoid arrest. The caller will claim to be a Sergeant with the department.
The scam phone numbers we have identified so far are 919-727-7340, 919-796-6093, 601-427-9848, and 229-733- 5501. The Adams County Sheriff’s Office does not place phone calls to demand payment for anything. If you receive one of these calls, please do NOT send any funds.
