HATTIESBURG, MISS– Jay Hopson may be the new head coach, but this isn’t his first rodeo with the University of Southern Mississippi’s Golden Eagles.
Hopson served under former head coach Jeff Bower as the defensive coordinator for two seasons, and as defensive backs coach from 2001-03.
The announcement from the university comes just in time for signing day on Tuesday.
For the past four seasons, Hopson has served as head coach at Alcorn State University.
