KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–The Attala County sheriff is in the hospital after getting into a wreck Saturday night. Sheriff Tim Nail was responding to a wreck on Hay. 12 when his Dodge pickup went into the other lane, then off the highway and hit a tree.
Exactly what caused the wreck was not immediately clear. Trooper Tony Dunn told Breezynews.com that Nail was taken to Montfort Jones Memorial in Kosciusko, with non-life-theatening injuries.
He was later taken to a Jackson hospital.
The wreck happened about 7:30 on Hwy. 12.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
