GAUTIER, Miss.–Shot in the back: That’s how 26-year-old Hunter Miller died Tuesday in Gautier and police are still looking for whoever did it. Miller was found shot in a car about 8 p.m. News Mississippi correspondent Todd Adams said Miller died on the way to the hospital.

“We’re not sure of the circumstances yet,” said Police Chief Jerry Cooks. “We believe he was talking to somebody outside the car and they reached in and shot him.”

Cooks said when he was shot, they believe Miller hit the gas and crashed into a fence.

Police said they had ID’d a suspect, but were not discussing who it might be. They were interviewing witnesses, and there were several who heard the shots and ran out to check and see what had happened.

If you can help, call Crimestoppers.
