GAUTIER, Miss.- A car accident yesterday morning left one man dead. UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Oceans Springs resident Daniel Tewksbury. His identity had been withheld until his family had been notified.
Gautier Police Department Captain Jerry Cooksey told the Sun Herald that the man was traveling southbound on Gautier/Vancleave road when the accident occurred.
He said the accident remains under investigation, but officers did work to reconstruct the accident to determine a cause.
The incident happened around 9:20 a.m., and there was only one vehicle involved..
Cooksey also said that, with the accident, traffic on Vancleave road was reduced to one lane until around noon.
