SLIDELL, La. – A 12-year old Pearl River, Mississippi boy is recovering at home after being bitten by an alligator in a New Orleans lake.
Matthew Kelly was spear fishing with his father Saturday when he was grabbed. Kelly told Louisiana TV Station WVUE he felt the 10-foot gator clamp down on his leg and pull him under water. Kelly had deep gashes in his left leg from that bit, and underwent surgery at Slidell Memorial Hospital. Family members said he was released this week and is doing well.
