Special legislative session begins Monday

capital city, capitol dome

Mississippi lawmakers will return to Jackson, and according to Governor Phil Bryant, should only be in town for one or two days.

On the docket: legislators must work out a budget for the Attorney General’s office as well as the state department of transportation.

A tussle between house and senate leadership over an online sales tax left the MDOT budget hanging on the line while time ran out, while the AG’s budget was affected by a one-word error in the drafting that was caught too late to address.
