Still On The Loose: Man Shot by Deputies Missing and Armed

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss.–Just how long do you think you could hold out after being shot with a large caliber weapon? Apparently Emmanuel Wooten is one tough man. But, he’s wanted not only for trading bullets with deputies, but in the shooting of a ten-year-old girl.

Lauderdale County deputies had him pulled over and cornered Wednesday night. When he got out of his vehicle, Wooten started shooting. Deputies were forced to shoot back and say they hit him, but Wooten took off running, still shooting at the cops.

Deputies began searching the area and searching vehicles, with law enforcement coming from as far away as Hattiesburg to help, but he has not turned up yet.

Sheriff Billy Sollie told media Thursday he thinks Wooten could be critically wounded.

He’s black, around 30, thin build. If you see him, call Crimestoppers at 601-485-1860.
