HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss.–Don’t be surprised if you see picket signs near Stennis Space Center in Hancock County today. Workers who are members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers are on strike.
Union members voted to strike Thursday night, reported WLOX, after they couldn’t reach a deal with Lockheed Martin. They were trying to get a deal on pension and benefits, but the contract expired Thursday before that could happen.
They voted to strike and 116 people were expected to picket today.
