Submitted by Reporter: Bobby Williamson

Students and family at Indianola Academy and Gentry High School are mourning today after the loss of three fellow students.

Monday afternoon around 4:45p.m. Mauricia Walker, a 9th grade student at Indianola Academy, her sister Ayerian Stevenson, a 2014 graduate of the same school, and Johnathan Moore, 17, a student at Gentry High, were killed in a single car accident. Their car left the road and landed in the Sunflower River between Indianola and Moorhead.  Stevenson and Walker were ejected from the vehicle and Moore’s body was found inside the vehicle after it was recovered from the river.  The accident remains under investigation.
