Out of Surgery and Okay: Nunnelee Family Says Surgery Went Well

HOUSTON, Texas—The surgery went well, is the message from the family of Rep. Alan Nunnelee, your 1st District Congressman from Mississippi. Nunnelee went in for surgery to remove a mass from the right side of his brain.

The surgery was at a Houston, Texas hospital. A statement from the family said Nunnelee was resting comfortable.

Nunnelee announced the surgery last week after the House of Representatives doctor told him to go to a Washington, D.C. hospital two weeks ago.

Nunnelee was weak and nauseous on the House floor. It was at the D.C. hospital that doctors discovered the mass.

The Congressman promised in a statement last week to keep you informed about his health and he and his family have been periodically releasing info.

There was no word on when he might return to either D.C. or Mississippi.

Nunnelee is in his second term representing the northeast quarter of the state and will face Democrat Ron Dickey in the November general election.
