Taking a Sick Day: Ronnie Milsap Replaced at Dixie National Rodeo

JACKSON, Miss.–Just as events were ready for the big Thursday kick-off at this year’s Dixie National Rodeo at the Mississippi Fairgrounds, there came an announcement that legendary country singer Ronnie Milsap would be replaced.

The announcement read:

Due to health concerns Ronnie Milsap will not be able to attend the concert slated for Sunday, Feb. 9. The Dixie National Rodeo wishes Ronnie only the best and a return to good health soon.

Replacing Milsap will be Tracy Lawrence, known for “If the Good Die Young”, “Texas Tornado” and “Sticks and Stones”, among five other number one country hits.

His show was set for 3 p.m. Sunday.
