JACKSON, Miss. — A 16-year-old is going to prison for sexually abusing a 2-year-old-girl he was babysitting.
Demario Mangum was sentenced in Hinds County Circuit Court Monday to 15 years with 10 suspected; and the judge gave him credit for the year he’s already served. Mangum was tried as an adult and convicted last month. He was 15 at the time of the crime. The victim’s mom says the sentence isn’t enough. She says Mangum should have to serve the full 15 years with no parole.
