The Brookhaven Shooting: Man Accused Gets $1 Million Bond

BROOKHAVEN, Miss.–Accused of shooting a family of five last Friday morning in Brookhaven, Jimmy Lyons, 32, probably won’t be getting out of jail because his bail was set at $1 million by a judge Tuesday.

Police say Lyons, who was living with the family, admitted his shot them after getting into an argument with the father, Jermaine Sims, 31. After he shot Sims, he went after the rest of the family, shooting 9-year-old Jamiyah Sims. Both she and her father died. The mom and two other kids are alive.
