The Mississippi Blues Marathon is still on after months of concern, thanks to a very special sponsor.
Moving into the Clinton area, Continental Tire, a German Company, has signed on with the marathon to be an official sponsor.
“We were very excited and relieved to have gotten that part done because frankly there were some times where we thought we might not continue because we weren’t getting the traction with potential sponsors,” said Race Director John Noblin.
The course runs through the Capitol City, Jackson, and ends at the Mississippi Museum of Art. It draws in racers from all over the country and the world.
The race has been happening since 2008 and showcases Jackson’s rich blues culture.
“The response since we got everything in order is overwhelming, the response I’ve seen on social media and how excited people are,” said Noblin.
With their title sponsor signed on, the marathon is now officially scheduled for January 27, 2018.
