Thursday weather rundown 8-24-17: rain for the Coast, sunshine elsewhere

A beautiful start to your day across north Mississippi: highs only reaching 85 today with a few clouds wheeling overhead and humidity taking a dip. In fact, you’re in for several days of this kind of treatment. However, the presence of Tropical Storm Harvey in the Gulf could likely change all that come Monday.

Central Mississippi seeing much-reduced temperatures today as well. A cold front is lingering over the region, drying things out and keeping humidity in check – for a little while, anyway. Highs today in the upper 80s. Look for scattered showers to mark your weekend.

Further south throughout the Pine Belt, highs will creep into the lower 90s with a little cloud cover marking your Thursday. You could see heavy showers moving in tomorrow night.

Along the Coast, however, plentiful rain and thunder today but weakening tonight. Expect a pleasant and warm Friday with more rain moving in Saturday from Tropical Storm Harvey.
