After a trailer caught fire in Jasper County three were left dead and two in critical condition.

Officials responded to a trailer on County Road 1511 after a fire was reported. Sheriff Randy Johnson said deputies found three individuals, Robbie Russell (husband), Betty Russell (wife), and Laura Russell (mother) dead on scene.

Johnson said the two survivors were both in Jackson awaiting surgery for severe burns. One of the individuals had second and third degree burns on over 50 percent of their body, and the other victim had the same type of burns on 35 percent.

Officials say one of the survivors told deputies that Robbie Russell was working on a propane heater when the fire occurred.

However, officials are still investigating.
