Trump pays trip to Louisiana, surveys flood damage ahead of Mississippi stop

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH– Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump stopped in East Louisiana and Ascension parishes Friday to survey the damage created by the recent historic flooding.

Folks gathered around as The Donald signed autographs, shook hands, and helped unload trucks of supplies for flood victims.

Trump told the Louisiana Radio Network he was shocked at the devastation.

“They really need our help,” said Trump. “People don’t understand how bad it is.”

Local media tweeted video of Trump unloading the 18 wheeler of supplies he donated to the relief efforts.

Donald Trump will be in Jackson, Mississippi Wednesday, August 24th for a fundraiser, followed by a public event at 7pm at the Mississippi Coliseum.
