HAZLEHURST, Miss.–Interstate 55 is busy with traffic and very dangerous. That’s the lesson from what happened near Hazlehurst Tuesday night, just before 7, when a man apparently tried to cross the busy highway and ended up hit by a truck and killed.
The man’s name was not released by Wednesday morning. The Miss. Highway Patrol said they were waiting to do that until his family was told. He may not be from Mississippi.
MHP also said he was wearing dark-colored clothing, which you should never do at night if you’re going to be on foot, near traffic.
He was hit by a Chevy truck. The driver had not been charged.
