Trying to Pay for A Murder: Man Arrested While Already in Jail

NEWTON COUNTY, Miss.–Already in jail on unrelated charges, John Thomas Roberts of Newton County is definitely no candidate for any house arrest program. He was charged with four counts of attempted murder, Monday, when investigators visited him in his cell.

The MBI was not saying much about the charges, except that they were related to a murder-for-hire plot.

So, it was still unclear who the intended victims were or what Roberts’ relationship to them may be.
