Two More Cases of West Nile Virus in Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss. – The Mississippi State Department of Health is reporting two new cases of West Nile Virus.

That now brings the total to 27 people infected this year.

Cases have been reported in 13 counties across the state, the most recent in Lauderdale and Marion counties. Last year 7 people died from the virus, 43 were infected.

The MSDH recommends if you’re going to be out side wear bug spray and try to get rid of any standing water around your yard.
