The U.S. and Cuba: Mississippi Reacts to the Obama Plan

JACKSON, Miss.–The Obama administration laid out plans Wednesday to normalized relations with Cuba after over 50 years of economic and diplomatic sanctions. That has Mississippians reaction on social media.

Here are some of the Twitter posts from around the state:

Glad to see Cuba Policy Opening! Under Al Com. Ron Sparks not only did we travel regularly but sold over 300 million in poultry to Cuba !

Pres. Obama has announced he will re-establish diplomatic relations with what a historic day. The old was has not worked.

Sorry Rachel. No soccer players from Cuba. They really stink at it.

Obama got it right on – past time for the US to take a leadership role here.

With his Cuba action, it is Time to Impeach Obama in January! Joe Biden will be too scared to do what Obama did!

Before the Cuba action by Obama we did not like the idea of Impeachment, but now Obama has gone way too far! Impeach him in January!!

Obama can get prisoners out of Cuba..trade a hostage with Al Qaeda….put he can’t get a minister out of Iran?? What a POS

I personally want to thank Pres Obama, the Pope, and all others responsible for this hopeful new effort that will benefit both USA & CUBA!
