United Way Kicking of 2015 Campaign

MERIDIAN, Miss.- Recently kicking off their 2015 campaign the United Way of East Mississippi is expecting this to be their biggest year yet.

They are asking one question, What does this place need and how is the community coming together to provide for those in need. They encourage individuals and companies to come together to help give to the United way and support programs and organizations in the area.

Pacesetter Chariman, Scott Stevens, tells WTOK that this year they have twenty-two companies on board as pacesetters and as they get ready to wrap it up there is still room for more companies to be involved. He reminds people that no matter who you are, when you donate to the United Way of Easy Mississippi, every last drop of that money stays right in the community and gives to various partner organizations and programs.

Eddie Kelly, United Way Campaign Chairman says he looks at giving to them as a way of making an investment in the community. Over 53,000 lives are effected by the United Way of East Mississippi alone and 39,000 hours of volunteer service in the area. Kelly says it’s like a rain drop and the more drops you have the bigger the impact.

They are excited that more and more companies are realizing the importance of giving back to the community and joining in with the organization to do so.

If you’d like to give you can call the United Way at 601-693-2732 or their office is located at 4817 North Park Drive Suite B in Meridian. They also have a website which is, http://www.unitedforunitedway.org/.
