Updated flood damage from MEMA for South Mississippi

JACKSON, Miss.- The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has updated ongoing reports for damage due to flooding.
The Wilkinson County Emergency Management center has reported 71 homes damaged from flooding. Most of the homes are located in Crosby and Centreville.

A shelter was opened in Natchez on Saturday by the Mississippi Department of Human Services and the American Red Cross. They are currently housing 67 people who have been displaced.

Severe flood damage on roads was reported in Amite, Harrison, and Pike counties.

Gov. Phil Bryant declared a State of Emergency for Adams, Amite, Pike, Wilkinson and other counties that were effected by the flooding that began on August 13. Two Mississippi National Guard CH-47 helicopters were authorized for operations in Louisiana.
