TUPELO, Miss. — The Tupelo Elvis Festival will see some changes for the better this year, according to city directors.
The venue will move from the downtown Lyric Theater and to the nearby BancorpSouth Arena.
“We decided to make that change because we’ve seen the festival grow,” said spokesperson Jessica Hollinger. “We have so many fans we have turned away in the past, and moving it to the arena it gives us the ability to accommodate more people.”
Many events are offered each year like a 5k run, Elvis impersonator competition, and plenty of live music.
Tickets for the event go on sale Jan. 21 for the festival that takes place in early June 2014.
