Violent Crime Victims Remembered at Tree Lighting Ceremony

JACKSON, Miss. – The holidays can be a happy time for some people, but for others it can bring up memories of loved ones lost. Monday was the 10th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Walter Sillers State Office Building in the capital city.

Victims of violent crime and supporters gathered in the lobby as a reminder that they are not alone during this time of the year. A Christmas tree there displays several ornaments hung by victims and will serve as a memorial victims of violent crime.
