AMITE COUNTY, MISS– The Mississippi Department of Corrections has appealed to the public via social media to find an escaped convict.
Michael Wayne Young, 42, is being sought by MDOC, Amite County, Franklin County, and other authorities. Young was sentenced on Sept. 19 for possession of a weapon by a felon and escape in Franklin County, and received two five-year sentences running concurrently.
Young, MDOC #169703, is believed to have escaped about 5 p.m. Saturday.
MDOC posted the escape on Facebook, in hopes that the public can help locate Young.
