BUCKATUNNA, Miss.- A Wayne County pastor was arrested on sexual abuse charges of a minor in Alabama.
Pastor Tommy Joe Newberry, who is linked to Red Creek Church of God in Buckatunna is being charged with enticing a minor, and two counts of sexual abuse and sodomy according to the Washington County Sheriff Richard Stringer.
According to authorities one victim came forward and later Newberry admitted to sexually abusing six victims. They ages are determined to be between 11 and 15 and they were said to be members of the congregation.
Newberry is currently out on $36,000 bond as long as he does not contact victims, their families, or go inside of the church.
His preliminary court hearing is January 20th.
