JACKSON, Miss– The rain is moving out across the Magnolia State by lunch, leaving the state perfect for the big college football weekend.
Lots of rain and heavy wind in North Mississippi, but thankfully no damage.
“We have some reports of weak or dead tree limbs which is common, but no structural or severe damage,” says National Weather Service Meteorologist Alan Campbell.
There’s still a chance of rain off and on throughout central Mississippi through the afternoon, but after that there will be a stark change in the temperature.
“It’s still going to be near 80 today,” says Campbell, “but when those winds switch up, we’ll actually get into the 40’s or 50’s, perfect for early fall.”
It’ll be sunny and cool for the weekend, Sunday could heat up a little, but Monday brings another chance of rain as the work week kicks back up.
