Weather rundown 6-12-2017; thunderstorms sweeping the state

It looks like the dry warm weather is gone and the rains are back.

Across the state temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80’s this Monday with thunderstorms threatening mostly the central and southern portions of the state.

“Right now we are expecting more widespread showers and thunderstorms this afternoon,” said David Cox with the National weather service. “It’s going to be pretty warm in the mid to low 80’s and a little further to the north looking the same.”

Those temperatures could make the heat index feel closer to the 90’s. Thunderstorm activity is expected to linger into the evening hours closer to midnight, but after that it should die down.
