Weekday weather rundown: 1-2-17

Here’s a quick look at what the weather looks like across the state today in Mississippi.

In north Mississippi, a wind chill advisory is in effect until noon today. Expect sunny skies in the morning, then becoming partly sunny in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 20s. The lowest wind chill readings will be 1 below to 6 below zero in the morning. At night, mostly cloudy with lows around 14 to 15 and wind chill readings ranging from 7 to 12.

In central Mississippi, a hard freeze warning is in effect until noon tomorrow, and a wind chill advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. this morning. More sunny skies today with highs only reaching the lower to mid-30s. The lowest wind chill readings will be around 3 below to 2 above zero in the morning. Tuesday night, mostly cloudy with lows around 16 to 17 degrees. Wind chill readings will also range from 8 to 13.

In south Mississippi, a hard freeze warning will be in effect until 10 a.m. tomorrow, as well as, a wind chill advisory in effect until 9 a.m. this morning. The weather today will be sunny in the morning and afternoon with highs in the upper 30s. The lowest wind chill readings will vary from 4 to 9 in the morning and tonight, mostly cloudy with a slight chance of flurries after midnight. Lows will be around 17 to 18 degrees and wind chill readings will range from 9 to 14.
