Here’s a quick rundown of the weather today across Mississippi.

There will be a flash flood watch for north and central Mississippi in effect from Friday night to late Saturday night.

In north Mississippi, mostly sunny skies with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs will near 80. At night, mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Locally, there will be heavy rainfall possible after midnight, lows will be in the lower to mid-60s.

In central Mississippi, expect mostly cloudy skies today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to mid-80s. Tonight, breezy with mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Some thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.

In south Mississippi, today will be partly sunny with some patchy fog in the morning. There is a slight chance of showers during the day and in the afternoon. Highs will reach the lower 80s and tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening and continuing after midnight. Lows will dip down into the upper 60s.
