Weekend of Violence Includes Murders in Delta, Jackson

CLARKSDALE, Miss.–Shot and left dead in the street-the end for 22-year-old Timothy Anderson. He died in that Delta street Sunday, according to the Coahoma County coroner. Anderson was shot in the back and stomach. No arrests had been made by Monday morning.

Meanwhile, in the capital city, three people died from bullets over the weekend and that included a double shooting where two teens were left in a ditch after someone shot them about 11 Saturday night.

The bodies of 17-year-old Albert Barber, Jr. and 16-year-old Jason Murphy were found about daybreak Sunday by residents of the neighborhood. Officer Colendual Green said both had been shot in the back. There was no motive and no arrests as of early Monday.

On the coast two men were stabbed after an argument about 3 a.m. Sunday. Cops there say 20-year-old Brandon Clack of Biloxi is responsible. Those two men survived the multiple stab wounds, but are in the hospital.
