Weekend weather rundown: 2-24-18

Here’s a quick rundown of the weather across the Magnolia state today.

In north Mississippi, there is a flood watch in effect until late tonight. Today expect cloudy skies with a chance of showers, as well as, a slight chance of thunderstorms in the morning. Then, more showers and thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Tonight, cooler temperatures with showers and thunderstorms. The National Weather Service says that some thunderstorms may be severe in the evening. Lows will be dipping down into the lower 50s.

In central Mississippi, there is a wind advisory in effect from noon today until midnight. Today expect cloudy skies with fog and thunderstorms in the morning. Then, more showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Tonight, cooler temperatures with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Thunderstorms may be severe after midnight. Lows will be in the upper 50s.

In South Mississippi, it will be mostly cloudy. Today expect fog in the morning with chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening. Patchy fog and more thunderstorms are expected for after midnight. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.
