Winter weather delays opening of state offices until 10 a.m.

As winter weather continues to hit Mississippi, Governor Bryant has issued a statement declaring that all agency heads will delay opening their offices until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

“Gov. Phil Bryant has ordered agency heads to delay opening state offices on Tuesday, Jan. 16, until 10 a.m., due to expected winter weather.

As of Monday afternoon, forecasts call for snow for most of North and Central Mississippi, starting Monday night and ending Tuesday morning.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation will have real-time travel conditions. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency will have real-time weather information”

Bryant also posted the message to his Facebook page, along with safety tips for drivers.
