JACKSON, Miss. — The woman accused of kidnapping 6-year old Jashayla Hopson from her Kemper County school this week is a former Mississippi School Teacher.
Jesse Mae Pollard now lives in Alabama. Family members say and the girl’s mother are cousins and were recently involved in a dispute. Pollard appeared in court Thursday afternoon and has been denied bond.
According to a criminal complaint, Pollard bought a cell phone at Wal-Mart and used it to text Jashayla’s month. That test said not to call police, or you won’t see your daughter again. Jashayla was found Wednesday afternoon after being left in Lauderdale County.
